Wireless Technology

This kit works on wireless technology, so although the actual sensors and display have to be charged there is no cable running from the back to the front of your vehicle – hence making it one of our easiest models to fit.

This kit can transmit wirelessly between the control box and the LED display – up to 8 metres so is perfect for any standard family car, 4x4, van or even motor home.

Rule of thumb………..if you have a standard car, 4x4 or van with plastic bumpers and the bumper is 50cm above the ground – this system will work for you

How does it warn you?

This kit is very sensitive and thus makes it stand out from the other wireless alternatives. It can detect an obstacle as near as 20cm away up to 2metres away – and it can detect the smallest or largest obstacle to ensure you have advanced warning of any potential hazard.

Minimum Distance Warning: 0-20cm Maximum Distance Warning: 2m

It warns you via a series of " Bi Bi " audio warning alerts and a visual display.

Bi.Bi.Bi audio warnings: min. 0-20 centimetres /max. 1m
Display warnings: min. 0 centimetres / max. 2m

So that means, that you will get alerts of an obstacle from 2 metres away and these alerts will increase with frequency as you get closer.

How is it fitted?

Easy! Let’s run through how to fit the LED first.

Simply take the Wireless LED Display out of the box and place it where ever suits you best – normally the dashboard. Then (with the 1.8m cable) plug it into the cigarette socket of your car.

Now for the actual sensors. Place sensors into your bumper (using the drill bit provided); connect each sensor to the control box (using the 2.46m cable provided) and then power the Control Box / ECU to any 12v fused source. We recommend the reverse light as it will only activate the sensors when reverse gear is selected. However, for front positioning you can connect to any 12v fused course.

Measurements

Most customers install everything (except the actual Wireless LED Display) in the boot so it’s out of sight and out of the way. However, some customers need to play around with this positioning slightly due to the unusual design of the vehicle.

So here are the precise measurements just incase:

Wireless LED Display – comes complete with a cigarette socket charger with a 1.8 m cable
Recessed Sensors – each sensor comes with 2.46m cable
ECU / Control Box – this is powered to the nearest fused 12V source (possibly your reverse light) and comes with a 0.98m cable

Special Instructions / Care Notice

The wireless transmission can not work through solid metal walls so is no good for pick-ups with inner cabins

This kit can not be mounted within metal bumpers or onto bumpers that are less than 50cm above the ground.

Although this kit works very well on Motor homes (with many happy customers), motor homes with a lot of internal obstructions i.e. bathroom, shower, cupboards etc may affect the wireless transmission distance. For advice, please do not hesitate to contact us for advice.

Although these sensors are our easiest to fit, we do still get the odd question. Here are a few of the most common:

I see many parking sensors for sale on the internet? Why yours?
We have been selling parking sensors for many years and we've bought our fair share of poor quality items to understand when something is good! This kit is good! Most parking sensor systems work in pretty much the same way - what makes to difference is build quality and warranty. This kit is very good quality, quite sturdy. High quality fixings and soldering to ensure this kit lasts! Also, unlike many that only offer a 1 month warranty, we will cover this product for a year.

Can I paint the sensors to colour match my car?
Yes, you can but you must use a non-metallic car spray paint. You can spray the entire surface area of the sensors to ensure a good colour match. Most car colours come in both metallic and non-metallic versions so when buying a can of car spray paint just opt for the non-metallic version.

Can I use these sensors at the front of my car instead?
Yes, most customers fit to the back but there is no reason why these can not be used on the front instead. Instead of powering / charging to the reverse light simply charge / power to any 12v fused source i.e. your headlights

If I fit to the front will they always be on?
This depends on what power source you connect them to. Connect to the brake light, they will only come on when braking, connect to the head light they will always be on (which is the standard). Although not supplied, you can fit an over-ride switch to enable you to have more control over when the front sensors are ON or OFF. Please note: if you add an over ride switch this may void your warranty.

Will these be suitable for my car?
For 9 out of 10 cars Yes. As long as your car bumper is plastic and the sensors can be mounted at least 50cm above ground, then Yes this system will work for you.

Will it work if I have a tow bar or spare wheel?
In theory YES but you may need to play around within the positioning. Rule of thumb: Each sensor MUST have a minimum of 50cm clearance from any permanent obstacle.... so you may need to fit the middle sensors more towards the edges.

What about wireless? Can it work with any car/vehicle?
The wireless transmission can work to over 8 metres...... Obviously the more things that obstruct this, the weaker the transmission will be. Soft furnishings will not affect it, so motorhomes and cars etc are fine. But, the wireless signal will not be able to fight through solid metal walls and hence no good for pick-ups with inner cabins etc

I only want to use 2 of the sensors - is this OK?
Yes, that's fine. You can use 1, 2 3 or all 4 - depending on your needs.
